For cooking you definitely need to get gingerbread in there! A few ideas are a gingerbread house or loaf, or gingerbread men. A great thing to do with things like a gingerbread loaf or muffins is to top them with crystallized ginger and some sort of glaze.

I think just walking into a craft store around Christmastime is a great way to get ideas. =) I don't think you can use this for an actual Christmas gift, but I'm planning on making my own wreath.

Ooh, thanks for the gingerbread muffins idea! Do you have a recipe? I'm sure I could find one but if you have a tried and true recipe I would love to see it.
Also, sorry about the late reply. Life has been quite hectic lately and not in the fun holiday way. :( Oh, well...Christmas is still coming!

I expect I will actually pay more attention to this journal after this Christmas. I don't have time for it now, but it will be much fun to start chronicling in January what I am doing for Christmas 2008!

I do actually; it's here: http://www.epicurious.com/recipes/food/views/104480

I added crystallized ginger chunks to the glaze. I'm not a huge lemon fan, but trust me, this recipe is awesome.
